Blokes are bad! The evidence mounts

Charles Saatchi - cautioned by police over the assault on his wife - like being slapped with a wet lettuce.

Well it has been a shocking couple of weeks for blokes.  We have denigrated women. We have assaulted women.  We have allegedly raped them.  The two buffoons pictured below, Howard Sattler and Piers Akerman thought that it was somehow OK to talk about rumours about the first bloke.  We men have, through our public representatives, shown ourselves to be quite odious.

Well what is your view?
Is my gender just a heart beat away from brutality?
Is my gender so insufferably hopeless that it should be marginalised?
Should all men be blamed for Corey Bernardi who links LGBTI marriage with evil?

Over to you.  I will not be blogging on this merely soliciting views.

Dick

    Don't forget this effort:

"“I don’t think it’s appropriate for a Prime Minister to be showing her cleavage in Parliament,”

Oops, my mistake, that was from a female idiot, so it doesn't count.

I don't accept the notion that men have a monopoly on stupidity, and refuse to be considered as responsible for the idiots you mention just because I happen to be part of the same gender.

    1. Yes - the name Ann Coulter pops into mind as well.

And I recall that Margaret Thatcher's, when asked to comment on those killed and maimed in the Falklands action would only say "Rejoice!"

And, like LJS, I refuse to be considered responsible for the behaviour of idiots on the basis of a shared gender.

This isn’t to suggest that the world isn’t crammed with horrible, irresponsible, and loathsome fathers. It is. But it is also teeming with cold, cruel, and sadistic mothers who use their kids as props and their sperm donors as ATMs. There are countless mothers who are verbally and physically abusive to everyone within striking distance. There are also innumerable children who suck the lifeblood out of both parents and drive them to early graves.

What we want to know is: Why do we only hear negative stories about fathers and never about mothers and children?

      x8

      Why is that now?

    7. It also turns out the photo Grace Collier was referring to was from 2006, while Gillard was in opposition...it just goes to show that misogyny isn't limited to men, crazy women can be afflicted too.

"Why do we only hear negative stories about fathers and never about mothers and children?"

Clearly you've never sat and listened to a Mothers Group chatting over a coffee. If you want to hear stories about terrible mothers, join a parenting website.

This whole sexism/misogyny thing is frustrating as hell. Aside from the fact that it diverts from actual political debate, it's ridiculous that in Australia in 2013 gender even needs to be on the agenda or that Australia can't accept that Julia Gillard HAS been treated appallingly by both the media and other politicians solely based on her being a woman, the last ten days have just seen it done more publicly than usual. Even the whole 'leadership challenge' beat up by the media is proof...same party, same policies, female leader? Election failure. Replace her with KRudd and suddenly they have a shot at winning.
      http://annesummers.com.au/speeches/her-rights-at-work-r-rated/

The vitriol directed at Julia Gillard is disturbing to say the least but worse is the view that she somehow deserves such criticism or has brought it on herself and in the current political climate I most certainly would not want my daughters aspiring to be PM one day.

In fact it *is* the Clayton's party policy where "substantial issues" no longer exist. It's all that remains for the Left intelligentia since the embarassing collapse of the "noble experiment" in the USSR slaughterhouse. Socialism is bankrupt and cannot recover from that one.

Not at all. One of Australia's major parties is going into the election with a policy to redistribute wealth from large companies to working women and also with the policy that centralised government planning is more efficient than market forces.

That's right - Socialism is alive and well and living in the Liberal Party.

Robin: "Socialism is alive and well and living in the Liberal Party"

Which in no way contradicts my position.

Every conservative party in every Western country, to my knowledge, is socialist. The notion "that centralised government planning is more efficient than market forces" is false whether uttered by Abbot or Gillard. That is why the USSR collapsed. It's why the USA, Britain and the EU is on the verge of collapse. I am old enough to remember idiot Menzies "domino theory" argument in which he maintained that the communists would come down through SE Asia and take over unless we increased our socialist program and he proceded to do so. Similarly idiot Howard's GST was implemented predominantly because the welfare state would be bankrupt without an increase in taxation. None of these worked and we are now in the position whereby tax increases are impossible and have been substituted by credit and the printing of fiat money. It can't go on much longer. The West either reverses course or another dark age will be upon us.

It is a little rude for you to call the Liberal Party "twerpworld", but perhaps it is accurate.

In answer to your first question, I don't think the Liberal Party are suggesting that these are the only two options, only that centralised government planning is the better of these two options.

In answer to your second question, I don't know the exact definition that the Liberal Party have for market forces - I had assumed that they used the general definition.
